The night before our wedding, Mel and I had the most amazing boatride for all our friends and family around NYC. I was looking through all my pictures (there's like 2000 of them!) and wanted to share a few with you.
There was gambling (of course), cigar rolling, food, dessert, and dancing until the sun came up.
That was a night I will absolutely never forget! NYC BABY! Thanks to all our friends and family who were their to celebrate with us!!!
So the week I was in NYC for my wedding my uncle had a BBQ at his house. It was so much fun. Its not often when you can get ALL of your family together. It was more like a family reunion. We had a blast and partied until late into the night. This is a BBQ I will never forget. I wanted to share some pictures of my family with you. Enjoy!
So I spent this past weekend in Miami. I LOVE MIAMI! I think I'm going to start visiting there more often. LOL..anyways I took my cousin Dice with me and how ironic was it that we found out our other two cousins, Ryan and Jason, were there as well. They were visiting from New York. We had no clue we would all be there the same weekend. What a great time. I got to hang out with family and friends. I was thrilled!! As Dice would say, "VIVA MIAMI!"
So while I was in Miami, I had to go support my girl Trina. She had a private listening party for her new album SO AMAZING which hits stores on May 4th. Its a really good album, I got a chance to listen to a lot of songs and I really enjoyed it. I took my cousins, Ryan and Jason with me, so we all had a blast. We went to dinner afterwards and Trina and I really got a chance to catch up. FUN TIMES!! I LOVE MIAMI!
So I spent last week in NYC. I had such a great time, I should never stay away from the city that long! Its always a treat to catch up with family and friends. I came across some of these pictures when I was looking through my camera that I wanted to share with you. Much love to my Mommy, my brother Diego Cash, Angela Yee, Angie B, Ty, Terrance J, Wiz, and my cousin Ryan. You'll see all of them in the pics. ENJOY! NYC ill be bacccckkkkkkkkkk.....
A lot of people don't realize that I'm Latina, which is fine. One thing about being Latina is that there isn't one look that comes with the territory. I don't expect people to know my cultural background just by glancing at me. I do, however, expect that when I tell people my family is from Puerto Rico, that I will be believed and not accused of trying to be something that I'm not. It usually goes something like this: a person having a conversation with me discovers one way or another that I'm Puerto Rican and fluent in Spanish. That person then expresses their shock over these realizations for any number of reasons--common responses are, "You don't look Latina" and "I thought you were black!" I never said I wasn't black. And since when does being black and being Latina have to be mutually exclusive?
In my experience, people tend to have an uninformed and rather narrow view of what it means to be Puerto Rican. For me, not looking like some people's idea of a typical Latina has been challenging and often painful. I constantly find myself trying to justify who I am, and why should I? I'm proud of my heritage and my family. Both of my parents are from Puerto Rico. They raised two kids in Brooklyn and later in New Jersey, where we ate arroz con gandules and pasteles and listened to salsa music. I feel just as at home in Puerto Rico, where I still have tons of family, including aunts, uncles and cousins. Puerto Rico is in my blood. And that has nothing to do with the color of my skin.
Here's a couple of quick flicks I took from my visit to the Wendy Williams show. I had a BLAST! Wendy was so much fun. I brought my mom, aunt, and cousin to the show. They laughed the entire time and haven't stopped saying "how you doooooiiinnnnn?" since...LOL..thank you for watching me on the show!
So the season has officially begun! Last night the Nuggets took on the Utah Jazz for the first game of the season. Congrats on the win! We had a blast at the game. My mom came, my brother Diego Cash was there, Bay, Khalilah, we all had lots of fun. This is my favorite time of the year! Whats your favorite basketball team??
So this past weekend, I went to Vegas again! I actually took my mom to celebrate her bday which passed earlier in the month. This was a mother/daughter trip. It was so much fun. We both enjoyed every minute of it. My friend, Nina, was there as well since it was her bday. So we hooked up, had dinner and went to Club Rain. Will.I.Am was deejaying. Who knew he was such a good DJ? We also saw the KA show in the MGM Grand; I highly recommend it! The water show outside the Bellagio was a sight to see as well. So much fun! VIVA LAS VEGAS
I took this quick vid while i was in Vegas at Club Rain, WIll.I.AM was deejaying..you NEVER want to be this guy in the club!! LOL..actually he was having a ball! Too Funny!
So my dad, Sam, came to Los Angeles this weekend to visit myself, Kiyan, and Mel. We had such a good time, hanging out, eating junk food (I knowwww!), and watching football games. My dad is a such a fun person to be around. He spends all day cracking jokes, and just enjoying life. He also gives me the best advice. I really believe I get my outgoing and spontaneous personality from him. He used to be on the radio too when he was younger. I don't get to see him as often as I would like though. He's an international flight attendant and is always traveling the world, but when we do catch up we always make the best of it. So big shouts to my DAD, I love you! I had a blast with you this weekend!
P.S. Dad wants all the ladies to know he's single! LOL
